Increase to Fees & Charges

DFSV reviews its fees and charges annually, in consultation with dairy industry representatives through the Dairy Industry Consultative Forum and the Victorian government. Following these consultations, there will be a 1.5% increase for all fees and charges from 1 August 2021 for the remainder of the 2021–22 financial year. This increase is consistent with the Victorian government annual indexation of fees.

The following table outlines the fee changes (excluding GST):

2021-22

Audit fees - manufacturers

$254

$257.8

$643.5

Per tonne output declared on annual renewal

$0.0001638

Distributor licence fee on annual renewal

$122.8

Carrier licence fee on annual renewal

$63

$63.9

*For manufacturers undertaking deductions and making payments on behalf of farm licensees, these amounts will begin to apply to milk volumes produced from July and payable from August.

DFSV has not increased fees and charges for the previous three financial years and continuing to hold fees and charges at the current rate is not sustainable into the future. This decision will ensure that DFSV has sufficient funds to continue to meet its statutory obligations and to provide support to industry to assist them in meeting the highest standards of food safety, a critical element underpinning the reputation of the industry with domestic and international markets.
