Dairy Food Safety Victoria (DFSV) is a statutory authority that reports to the Victorian Minister for Agriculture.
Our vision is product safety and integrity locally and globally for Victoria's dairy industry.
Our mission is to independently regulate dairy food safety.
Established under the Dairy Act 2000 as an independent organisation, DFSV is governed by a Board and funded from dairy licence and service fees.
Under the Act, DFSV is authorised to set and charge fees for carrying out its functions or for the provision of services. Fees and charges are set annually by the DFSV Board after consultation with the Victorian dairy industry.
DFSV's budget for 2017–18 of $6.04 million was allocated across its various business functions as indicated in the following graph.
