Luke Wilson Appointed Chair of Dairy Food Safety Victoria Board

The Minister for Agriculture, the Hon Ros Spence MP, has appointed Mr Luke Wilson PSM GAICD as the Chair of the Dairy Food Safety Victoria (DFSV) Board.

Mr Wilson brings a wealth of experience in public administration, having held senior executive roles across various government sectors. He is widely respected for his leadership and commitment to public service, having served as Victoria’s first Cross Border Commissioner.

In 2025, Mr Wilson was awarded the Public Service Medal for his significant contributions during the 2019–20 bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in supporting communities and businesses affected by state border closures.

Mr Wilson has a strong track record of achievement and a deep understanding of the food safety landscape.

Throughout his career, Mr Wilson has led Agriculture, Resources, Energy, and Corporate Services portfolios within Victorian Government departments. His work in the agriculture sector has involved key responsibilities in food safety policy, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

Mr Wilson will provide important strategic direction and leadership for DFSV, focussing on continuing DFSV's core regulatory excellence while also supporting the Victorian Government's food regulation reform program.

The Minister for Agriculture, DFSV board members and staff recognise outgoing Chair Dr Anne Astin's long service with the organisation, both as inaugural CEO and more recently as Chair, and thank Dr Astin for her valuable contribution to both DFSV and food regulation.
